A sun-splashed day and impeccable playing conditions at TPC Myrtle Beach greeted competitors Thursday for their practice round, in preparation for the 10th edition of the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship Presented by LA Golf to be played Friday through Sunday.
The tournament’s prominent host was on hand to meet the players and assembled media, and 30 of the world’s top-rated girls joined 60 of its top-ranked boys counterparts for final preparations in their quest to capture one of junior golf’s most coveted trophies.
With the support of Johnson, the world’s top-ranked player for more than two years, the tournament provides participants a pro-like experience, and the chance to test themselves against premier players from across the globe.
TPC Myrtle Beach, which was home to the 2000 Senior Tour Championship and 2019 NCAA Men’s Regionals, was built with the idea of hosting pro-level events, and DJ World Junior participants have been among the beneficiaries. From names on their lockers to placards on the range and live scoring throughout the property, the tournament provide players an experience similar to what DJ enjoys on the pro level.
The 54-hole, stroke play competition kicks off Thursday with first-round tee times starting at 9 a.m. ET. The Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship is open to the public and free to attend, with complimentary parking and shuttle service offered from Inlet Square Mall from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day of the competition.
