This week’s Play Golf Myrtle Beach course in the spotlight is Meadowlands Golf Club in Calabash, N.C., where Jim Maggio last visited in fall 2025 to discover a stunning palette of autumn hues. Jim took full advantage of a picture-perfect morning along the NC/SC state line to capture this imagery.

Eleven graduates of the University of Notre Dame recently celebrated 40 years of friendship with a relaxing, fun-filled weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, The Golf Capital of the World®. Arriving from cities spanning the country they joined me in settling in at Dozen Cousin Cove, a recent addition to the oceanfront lodging stable at Elliott Realty and recommended to “Brother Bonnie’s Shining Stars” by Brian Noblin at Myrtle Beach Golf Authority.

Sure, everyone wants to play Caledonia, Tidewater and Grande Dunes, among a host of other top 100 caliber layouts that call Myrtle Beach home, but at the heart of the area’s appeal are the abundance of under-the-radar courses that deliver a quality round of golf.

The ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic will be held on May 7-10, 2026, at Dunes Golf and Beach Club. The dual-field tournament will again be one of 36 events on the FedEx Cup regular season schedule for 2026. The 2025 event was won with a dramatic chip-in by Ryan Fox in a three-way playoff this past May.
