In the mid-1980s Myrtle Beach was still an emerging golf destination and the idea of the South Strand had yet to take hold. But River Club, which opened in 1985, was the second course to open in Pawleys Island and helped launch the area to prominence.

Spring is on the immediate horizon here in Myrtle Beach, meaning golf courses will be full and one of the one of the game’s bugaboos – pace of play – will move to the forefront for to many players.
