Grande Shores Ocean Resort is showing off recent renovations and upgrades that are already a hit with vacationing golfers and beachgoers! With the resodding of its great lawn and the removal of shrubs separating it from the beach, Grande Shores now boasts one of the Myrtle Beach area’s more spectacular oceanfront vistas you’ll find in oceanfront accommodations.

In partnership with renowned Carolinas golf course architect Tim Cate, Sea Trail Golf Resort has begun a renovation plan that will elevate its Willard Byrd course to new heights with a wide array of enhancements.

Fourteen Myrtle Beach-area designs have been named among Golfweek’s Best 2024 in the Carolinas, with Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, The Dunes Golf & Beach Club and True Blue Golf Club earning three of South Carolina’s top five selections and Thistle Golf Club earning a top-10 nod in North Carolina.

Three courses to go, and Charlie Rymer has one location for two of them in his “Breaking Par” journey. Here at Myrtlewood Golf Club, “The Big Timer” is taking on the par-4 finishing hole at the PineHills Course. Let’s see if there’s another red number in the cards!

From the 41st Annual National Retired Military Golf Classic taking center stage across several top Myrtle Beach courses to casual rounds with friends and everything in between, this week has truly had it all. Our latest stops along the Myrtle Beach golf scene included two courses that have undergone recent upgrades, Brunswick Golf Club and Prestwick Country Club. Brunswick completed its 27-hole bunker renovation plan in early spring that included new drainage, shaping, new sand, and removal of several unnecessary traps, while Prestwick is entering a summer phase of upgrades after completing extensive winter work on its front nine.

It’s a simple but effective drill that’s a favorite of Stefany King at Classic Swing Golf School at Legends Golf Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Practice this three-step sequence, and your days of topping the ball are a thing of the past!

It’s another Intracoastal Waterway setting, and a beauty: the par-5 8th hole at Tidewater Golf Club, where Charlie Rymer’s trying for more than just birdie. Can “The Big Timer” get home in two, and give himself a prime opportunity for eagle as he hits the final stretch of his “Breaking Par” journey?

Despite all the attention to “The Golf Capital of the World,” the northern end of the Grand Strand golf scene occasionally gets overlooked. The stretch from Little River to just across the state line into Brunswick County, N.C., is home to many outstanding courses, chief among them are Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links, Leopard’s Chase Golf Club and Tiger’s Eye Golf Links.

Three of the next four stops in Charlie Rymer’s “Breaking Par” journey are situated along the Intracoastal Waterway. The first is at River Oaks, where “The Big Timer” is taking on its par-3 3rd hole. Let’s see if he can kick off this part of the home stretch with a birdie!
