It gets plenty of attention, and for good reason. “The Gambler,” the adventurous risk/reward, par-5 6th hole at King’s North at Myrtle Beach National is one of the Grand Strand’s most talked-about holes.

So take this video as a reminder that, as memorable as your playing experience is on No. 6, the three-hole run-up to it deserves every bit of your full attention as well. A par 4-3-4 sequence on Holes 3 through 5 offers its own blend of compelling scenery and unique challenge to whet your appetite for all “The Gambler” has to offer.

Tom Fazio’s list of accomplishments is lengthy and his two Myrtle Beach golf courses, TPC Myrtle Beach and the Fazio Course at Barefoot Resort, certainly helped burnish his lofty reputation. Both layouts have been ranked among “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses” by Golf Digest and have served as the centerpiece of countless golf trips.
