2015 Year-in-Review: Founders Group International Takes Flight

January 3, 2016

Long Bay is a Founder Group International CourseFGI completed the purchase of National Golf Management’s 12 golf courses in April, taking over for a company that had its roots in Myrtle Beach’s emergence as a world-renowned destination. The purchase increased FGI’s course portfolio to 22 and provided the company with ownership of Myrtle Beach Golf Trips, one of the nation’s largest package companies.

On paper FGI’s emergence reads like a tectonic shift, but the greatest testament to the quality of the company’s work is this: you, the traveling golfer, likely had no idea it had taken place.

FGI’s course portfolio includes Long Bay Club, King's North at Myrtle Beach National, Pine Lakes Country Club, Grande Dunes Resort Course, South Creek at Myrtle Beach National, West Course at Myrtle Beach National, Myrtlewood Palmetto, Myrtlewood PineHills, River Club, Pawley's Plantation, Willbrook Plantation, Litchfield Country Club, TPC Myrtle Beach, Aberdeen, Burning Ridge, Colonial Charters, Founders Club, Indian Wells, River Hills, World Tour, Tradition Club and Wild Wing.

The company owns some of the area’s best and most recognizable courses, and FGI has worked to ensure the continuing quality of all of its layouts.

The transition, taking over a company that traced its beginning back to the earliest days of the Myrtle Beach golf scene, could’ve been a challenging, one but the FGI management team, led by Dan Liu and Nick Dou, has dedicated itself to enhancing the Myrtle Beach golf experience.

They are off to an outstanding start.
