Eight Myrtle Beach-area designs have been selected by Golf Digest for inclusion in its 2025-2026 ranking of the “Best Golf Courses in South Carolina,” led by The Dunes Golf & Beach Club at No. 21. The Dunes Club was also included in the publication’s 2025-2026 release of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses,” coming in at No. 79.
The Dunes Club’s stature in “The Golf Capital of the World” continues to be bolstered by its status as host of the PGA TOUR’s ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic. Joining them among the Grand Strand’s leading “Best in State” entries are Caledonia (29th), the Dye Course at Barefoot Resort (30th), True Blue (33rd), TPC Myrtle Beach (36th), Tidewater (38th), Grande Dunes Resort Course (47th), and the Fazio Course at Barefoot (49th).
The top course in the Palmetto State’s rankings remains The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, followed by four private facilities including Congaree Golf Club, Yeamans Hall Club, The Tree Farm and Old Barnwell Golf Club. Harbour Town Golf Links (6th) joins The Ocean Course as the only public access courses in South Carolina’s overall top 10.
Golf Digest’s biennial “Best in State” rankings are based on more than 80,000 evaluations over a 10-year cycle from its panelists, who have assessed courses based on shot options, challenge, design variety, conditioning, aesthetics, character and fun.
