Each of the four designs at Barefoot Resort & Golf offers plenty of challenge from tee to green, so advice on scoring opportunities is always welcome!
Cue James Gillespie, Head Golf Professional at Barefoot Resort & Golf, who’s back with his thoughts on the three top birdie opportunities at the resort’s Davis Love III design.
In order, Gillespie highlights:

Hole 2 – “This par 5 is a relatively short hole,” Gillespie offers. “It is a bit of a dogleg right and a fade off of the tee will put you in an ideal location. The green is crowned with bunkers protecting shots that are short and there is also a large tree that protects the right side. The left side of the fairway is out of bounds and there is water to the right, as players approach the green. The green is certainly reachable in two shots, setting up a good birdie opportunity.”

Hole 4 – Says Gillespie, “This short par 4 is reachable with a good drive from any set of tees. If the green is missed with the tee shot, the second shot should be very short setting up another good opportunity for a birdie. This hole also features remnants of a wall as well as some other plantation-style characteristics that make this hole unique.”

Hole 13 – “This short par 5 has two fairway options for players and has a creek up the middle that they will need to navigate,” explains Gillespie. “Once the drive is in play, players should have a mid-iron into the green to set up a good opportunity for an eagle or birdie.”
