Award-Winning Pop and Rock Acts Highlight Great Post-Round Entertainment Option in October

Wherever you’re enjoying your Second Season golf getaway this fall by day, October’s Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art (PIFMA) has a host of headline musical acts on tap by evening that are sure to please you and your group.

Among the highlighted performances at The Reserve Golf Club at Pawleys Island:

Blood, Sweat & Tears (Saturday, Oct. 5, 7 p.m.). When you one-up Paul, Ringo, John and George on any occasion, you’re a big deal. Recipients of 10 Grammy Award nominations and three Grammy Awards, including 1970’s Album of the Year (“Blood, Sweat & Tears”) over The Beatles’ “Abby Road,” the group remains active a half century after its performance at Woodstock. “Spinning Wheel” was one of three hit singles from Blood, Sweat & Tears’ self-title album that rose as high as No. 2 on Billboard’s U.S. pop charts.

Pablo Cruise (Saturday, Oct. 12, 7 p.m.). This American pop band has produced two platinum albums in the U.S.: A Place in the Sun (1977) and Worlds Away (1978), the latter of which peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard U.S. album chart. “Whatcha Gonna Do” and “Love Will Find a Way” are Pablo Cruise’s most enduring tracks from these compilations, and three of the band’s four original members continue to tour with the band to this day.

The Marshall Tucker Band (Sunday, Oct. 13, 7 p.m.). Palmetto State natives from Spartanburg, S.C., these renowned rockers produced five gold albums and one platinum album during an impressive decade-long run on the Billboard charts. Its most enduring hit, “Can’t You See,” has since been covered prominently by Waylon Jennings (1976) and Zac Brown Band with Kid Rock (2010).

These performing artists headline a full stable of music entertainment events that kicks off Oct. 3 with the 20th Annual Pawleys Island Food & Wine Gala. The gala, as well as the musical performances, are part of a broader 28-year effort by PIFMA to provide visitors and area residents with quality performances, programs, and educational opportunities in music and the arts.
