Classic Postscript: How to Make a Feel-Good Story Even Better

The golf world has truly embraced the champion of the 2026 ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, Brandt Snedeker, as a feel-good story for multiple reasons: first win in eight years on TOUR, overcoming injuries, competing at a high level at age 45, the list goes on.

Turns out, there’s yet another reason to feel good about Snedeker claiming the title. This perspective comes from Dennis Nicholl, Director of Golf for The Dunes Golf & Beach Club, who shared this story that didn’t grab headlines but speaks volumes to the character of the man in the spotlight:

“Our Dunes Club members are asked to empty their lockers before the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic for the players to use during tournament week,” Nicholl explains. “Josh Gore has locker #195 and thought it would be nice of his children, Noah (9 years old) and Luca (7 years old) to hand write good luck notes to whatever PGA TOUR player happens to get locker #195. Prior to the players arriving, they placed the notes in the locker with a Dunes Club hat as a gift.

“That locker was randomly assigned to Brandt Snedeker.

“After the post-round trophy ceremony and the celebratory events, Brandt’s caddie found me and handed me the two notes from the kids and asked if I would kindly make sure those notes get back to the Gore family. Of course I said I would and then read Brandt’s hand-written reply to the kids that simply said, “Thank you for the good luck! Brandt Snedeker.” Such class!

“So cool for Noah and Luca to be a small part of a huge victory for Brandt!”
