Current Conditions Along the Myrtle Beach Shoreline – Aug. 3, 2023

Myrtle Beach State Park Pier, July 2024

Summer visitors to the Grand Strand shores are loving the extra-blue hue of the ocean water hugging the coast in recent weeks. An extended mix of atmospheric conditions (hot weather, relatively calm winds and lack of tropical systems in the Atlantic) has allowed natural sediments in the Grand Strand’s seaside waters to settle to the ocean floor – giving the waters lapping the Myrtle Beach shoreline a notably brighter and more tropical look in the height of the day, and bluer look in the early-morning and sunset hours.

So whether you prefer an active afternoon on the beach after your morning round of golf or just a leisurely sunrise or sunset stroll along the shore, there’s no better time to enjoy the perfect combination of great golf and spectacular beach conditions in Myrtle Beach!
