Current Conditions: Rivers Edge Golf Club

We caught up with Jason Monahan, general manager at the Arnold Palmer signature design at Rivers Edge Golf Club along the Grand Strand’s north end in Shallotte, N.C., to get an update on how the course is being received this spring by visiting golfers.

Per Jason Monahan:

“It’s been a great spring here. Weather has been fantastic. Conditions are flourishing. We’ve had a great run so far. The golf course is getting a lot of traffic, a lot of recognition.

“We put a lot of effort in this past winter with renovations to prepare for our spring golfers, and, so far, it’s all paying off. We’ve had a lot of good feedback from the customers, great compliments, and we’re really happy with the condition and the position that the golf course is in currently.

“Clearly, it’s worth the drive. The peacefulness and the serenity that you experience when you’re out here at this fantastic Arnold Palmer design makes Rivers Edge worth the drive. When you think about it, we’re really only 12 miles over the border in North Carolina.

“It’s not really that far of a hike to get here. It’s a great option when you’re coming in on a golf package to hit us as your first round, or even when you’re departing, maybe heading back to the Northeast, play Rivers Edge on your outbound round. It’s absolutely worth it. The land, the scenery that you experience out here, it’s unmatched.

“Rivers Edge is affiliated with East Coast Golf Management, and we have about 25 golf courses in our portfolio. We offer some outstanding specials through our preferred providers where they can bundle the East Coast courses. There’s even options where you can get a gift card as part of your package that you can use to spend at any of our East Coast courses and many other options that they can play and include Rivers Edge in that East Coast Golf Management package.”
