Delaware Rallies, Campbell Finishes Strong to Win 2021 Golfweek Fall Challenge

With four golfers combining to go 18-under par in the final round of men’s play at the Golfweek Fall Challenge, Delaware (-30) mounted a furious rally to overtake Mercer by one stroke and join the Campbell women’s team as 2021 event champions.

The Blue Hens’ Hugo Kedzlie fired a 7-under 65 at True Blue Golf Club to help lead his squad to victory, with Roberto Nieves (68), Sahasawat Ariyachatva (68) and Michal Bargenda (69) adding strong rounds as well. Mercer (-29), Campbell (-19), Temple (-17), Jacksonville State (-15) and Tennessee Tech (-15) rounded out the top finishing men’s teams.

Campbell’s Anna Nordfors (E) led the Tuesday scoring for the Camels’ women’s team (+1) at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, which finished 12 shots clear of runner-up Jacksonville State. East Carolina (+15), Lipscomb (+19) and Central Arkansas (+25) rounded out the women’s top five.

Thirty-eight NCAA Division I collegiate golf teams descended upon the Grand Strand this week to compete in the 54-hole event hosted by the South Strand’s elite Mike Strantz designs. Nine colleges and universities were represented by teams in both the men’s and women’s divisions: Jacksonville State, Delaware, Wofford, Tennessee Tech, Campbell, USC Upstate, Presbyterian, Stephen F. Austin and Gardner-Webb.
