Denise Alcala Wins The Ultimate Buddy Trip To Myrtle Beach

July 16, 2008

A few hours spent surfing the Internet paid off for Denise Alcala as the Hanford, California resident won the “The Ultimate Buddy Trip” contest on www.GolfHoliday.com and will travel to the “Golf Capital of the World.” Alcala’s husband, daughter and mother will join her on a five-day trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as part of the online contest sponsored by Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. This will be the first trip to the East Coast for Denise and the first-ever airplane flight for her mother.

“My entire family plays golf so when I saw the contest online, I entered,” said Alcala. “I’ve never won anything this big and I had to call back to confirm that someone wasn’t playing a joke on me. My husband and I are avid golfers and my daughter is a member of her high school golf team so we’re all very excited. My mother doesn’t play golf but she’s looking forward to seeing Myrtle Beach.”

The Alcala family flies into Myrtle Beach on Tuesday, June 17th and will receive roundtrip airfare, four nights at the Myrtlewood Villas, a round of golf at Arrowhead Country Club, Myrtlewood Golf Club, Wachesaw Plantation East and Wild Wing Plantation, a one-hour golf lesson with Joe Bernat of Wachesaw Plantation East for the three golfers, a $250 gift card at PGA TOUR Superstore, a rental car and breakfast and dinner each day. The family returns home to Hanford, California, located 45 minutes south of Fresno, Saturday evening, June 21st.

“We’re happy to have the opportunity to bring the Alcala family to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for their first visit to the “Golf Capital of the World,” said Bill Golden president of Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. “The Grand Strand area has always been a popular destination for male buddy trips but now as more and more families are playing golf together, Myrtle Beach is the ultimate destination for family golf trips with more “Top 100” golf courses than any other destination in the United States. We’re excited that a family that plays golf as much as the Alcala’s will have the chance to experience the quality and quantity of golf that we offer here in Myrtle Beach.”
