Five of Our Favorite Aerial Shots in Myrtle Beach Golf

If you take enough aerial photos and video throughout the Myrtle Beach golfing landscape, you’re gonna develop a long list of favorite shots. Our aerial photographer/videographer, Jim Maggio, certainly has his, and he’s sharing some of his top choices that have come from seven years of filming courses up and down the Grand Strand golf scene.

Here, in no predetermined order, are five of his favorites:

Glen Dornoch No. 17

  1. Glen Dornoch Waterway Links, No. 17 – “When the sun’s shining brilliantly and there’s any kind of activity along the Intracoastal Waterway, this par 3 makes for an unforgettable combination of striking visuals.”
  2. The Dunes Golf & Beach Club, No. 9 – “It’s the one aerial shot in Myrtle Beach golf that offers a true oceanfront element, either from a high or low angle. And when the sun’s coming up from behind that green, there’s nothing quite like it.”
  3. Prestwick Country Club, No. 9 – “The contours of this hole are what make this such a memorable shot. I always prefer shooting just low enough to where you can get a full appreciation of the depth and complexity of P.B. Dye’s handiwork.”
  4. True Blue Golf Club, No. 3 – “Another in the ‘shoot it just low enough’ category, this is where you can truly appreciate the split level of a peanut-shaped green, and the steepness and striking visual of a wraparound bunker that feeds into the surrounding lake.”
  5. , No. 5 Heron – “It has multiple tee boxes that span at least a 90-degree range of approach into this green. You can play this hole many times and have a vastly different angle to the pin each time. From any angle, though, you appreciate how beautiful a backdrop you get from the Lockwood Folly River.”
