Fore-ward Thinking: What I’m Most Excited for in 2025 in the Golf Capital of the World!

The Venue at International Club of Myrtle Beach is one of the emerging golf course-based dining options Joe visited in 2024.

Golf in Myrtle Beach had an absolutely amazing year in 2024. Along with the usual staples like Monday After the Masters, the World Am, and nearly 3 MILLION ROUNDS played, we hosted the area’s first-ever PGA TOUR event, the Myrtle Beach Classic. We also saw a massive amount of work and investment poured back into our golf courses, bringing stunning aesthetic and playability improvements for both visiting and local golfers alike.

Though we’re only two weeks into 2025, here are some of the things I’m looking forward to most in the upcoming year!

1. Brand-New Menus and Clubhouse Fare All Over the Grand Strand

Everyone loves a good lunch or post-round meal (yours truly very much included), so this tops my list. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit many of the new clubhouse restaurants that have been completely revamped and renovated over the past year, from Sea Trail to Myrtlewood to International Club of Myrtle Beach. If you haven’t had the chance to check them out (along with many others), you don’t know what you’re missing.

While the standard pub fare is still available, a lot of care and attention has been given to modernizing and elevating the food and beverage offerings. I think it won’t be long before figuring out where to grab an unbeatable bite before or after your tee time will be a thing of the past. You’ll already be there!

2. The Return of the Myrtle Beach Classic

Last year, the PGA TOUR made history in “The Golf Capital of the World,” earning multiple industry awards including a “Best-in-Class Element” recognition for The Q in Myrtle Beach (yes, we’re bragging about this one!) and more. Honestly, what could be better than having a PGA TOUR event right in your own backyard?

In 2025, the Myrtle Beach Classic returns May 8-11 at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club. Tickets are on sale now, so be sure to grab yours and join us for some of the most exciting and fun-filled moments you’ll experience all year!

3. A Jam-Packed Calendar of Great Events

The Play Golf Myrtle Beach Events team does an outstanding, world-class job hosting about a dozen in-house events and supporting golf operations for many others. This dedicated team lives, sleeps, and breathes golf, and in 2025, they’ve got a lot of exciting things in store.

The largest amateur golf tournament in the world, the PlayGolfMyrtleBeach.com World Amateur Handicap Championship, is about to undergo a full rebranding – including an overhaul of its legendary, nightly “World’s Largest 19th Hole” that will feature some truly unique, must-see hands-on experiences. Stay tuned for more details on that – and if you haven’t yet joined their mailing list, now’s the perfect time to do so!

4. Golf’s Top Social Media Influencers Invade the Beach

With the wildly successful inaugural edition of “The Q” behind us, we can’t wait not only to do it again but also to continue building relationships with some of the most talented and innovative content creators in the game. The Bryan Bros and Aaron Chewning of St. Andre Golf are just a few we’ve partnered with in the past few years, and I’m excited to see how we bring more into the fold in the coming year.

As we look ahead to 2025, Myrtle Beach continues to solidify its place as THE premier golf destination, as well as America’s No. 1 buddy trip. With exciting events, new experiences, and the return of familiar favorites, this year promises to be one of the best yet for everyone who enjoys the game of golf!
