A full field of more than 440 traveling golfers from 34 states descends upon the Grand Strand next week to take part in Myrtle Beach’s premier two-person team event, the 7th Annual Short Par 4 Fall Classic.
Players are arriving from locales as far away as California and Hawaii, and the event will be contested on 16 of the area’s top courses over four days Nov. 16-19. Tournament venues include Arrowhead, Barefoot Resort’s Love and Dye courses, Caledonia, Grande Dunes’ Members Club and Resort Course, Long Bay, King's North at Myrtle Beach National, Pine Lakes, Prestwick, Rivers Edge, Thistle, Tidewater, TPC Myrtle Beach, True Blue and World Tour.
With the 2020 edition of The Masters moving to this coming weekend, it presents Fall Classic participants a unique opportunity to kick off the week’s festivities by enjoying one of a number of Masters Sunday Watch Parties being hosted at The Sneaky Beagle and multiple Grumpy Monk locations. Each player receives a $50 Grumpy Monk/Sneaky Beagle gift card upon check-in, as part of a generous array of welcome gifts that also includes a pullover, commemorative ball marker and commemorative divot tool.
Once play begins, participants will compete in a different format each day, Monday’s Round 1 competition contested in a Best Ball format, Tuesday’s Round 2 as Modified Alternate Shot, Wednesday’s Round 3 as a Texas Scramble and Thursday’s Round 4 as Best Ball. The tournament will be score with net results using a percentage of each player’s handicap.
Fall Classic festivities conclude with Thursday’s post-round lunch and awards, with prizes awarded to top flight finishers and each participant receiving lunch and two drink tickets at their final-round course of play.
