Giving Back: Mystical Golf’s Commitment to Community

In this holiday season of giving, we like to shine a light on those in the Myrtle Beach golf industry who are making an impact on their local community. And from the company’s leadership to its golf course employees, Mystical Golf’s community involvement is deeply engrained in the daily culture of its three golf courses (, The Wizard and Man O' War) and its parent company, DG Golf Management.

A longtime supporter of The Pardue Children in Need Fund at Waccamaw Community Foundation, this group has coordinated major fundraising events and involved staff members in countless projects over the years that each have a solitary but profound purpose: to bring joy to the lives of at-risk youth in residential care facilities, at a time when these children truly need it most.

Whether it’s through concerts at Alabama Theatre or their Annual Christmas Child Golf Tournament, The Pardue Children in Need Fund has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars to benefit such organizations as Conway’s Lighthouse Care Center, which helps children and adolescents suffering from mental health, substance abuse disorders and other family/emotional issues; and Seacoast Youth Academy, which provides intensive services to help kids with severe emotional and behavioral management issues.

But the company’s support goes far beyond the monetary aspect. Members of the DG Golf Management team take it upon themselves to give frequently of their time as well. While the Christmas is a popular time for employees to rally around the cause, a number of them roll up their sleeves to lend a hand throughout the year. Case in point: the head golf professionals at The Witch, The Wizard and Man O’ War have hosted free golf clinics on Mondays during the summer months to benefit Seacoast Academy youth – hoping not only to spark their interest in the game, but to offer a positive physical and mental outlet for these kids to channel their energies.
