Hootie & the Blowfish Launches Myrtle Beach Golf Promotion

In conjunction with its current, 44-city Group Therapy Tour with Barenaked Ladies, Grammy Award-winning recording artist Hootie & the Blowfish has released a series of video ads to promote “The Golf Capital of the World” as part of its tour partnership with Play Golf Myrtle Beach.

Like all promotional spots featuring the band, the video featured here sets the scene to the sounds of the hit single from its “Cracked Rear View” album, “I Only Wanna Be With You.” The song is the perfect fit for the collective message put forth by lead singer Darius Rucker, guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim “Soni” Sonefeld.



Among the tributes they offer the golfing destination the band has called home for decades:

“If you’re taking your buddies, and you’re looking for some place to go play golf, I can’t think of any place better than Myrtle Beach …” says Rucker.

“It’s nice to have a place that we can call home, instead of looking for a place. Myrtle Beach is the one place you can come to and you knew you were golfing,” adds Sonefeld.

Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, Grande Dunes Resort Club, The Dye Course at Barefoot Resort and Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club are among the Myrtle Beach-area courses featured in the promotional series, which is currently airing in a variety of multimedia channels. The video series also promotes several of Play Golf Myrtle Beach’s airline partners that offer nonstop service to the Grand Strand including Allegiant, Frontier, Spirit, Porter and Sun Country.

Hootie & the Blowfish is also showcasing its Play Golf Myrtle Beach partnership on the video boards of each concert venue on its Group Therapy Tour.
