The 26th Annual Veterans Classic teed off this morning at 18 of the Myrtle Beach area’s most requested golf courses. Patriotism was on full display at Long Bay Golf Club as community residents welcomed players with food and drink stations, and presented special gifts of appreciation to each veteran golfer.
Before play began, Ryan Hart, Tournament Director for Golf Tourism Solutions, presented members of the Long Bay community with a special award honoring their dedication and support to the veteran golfers and their families. For years, this proud community has decorated their homes and yards in red, white, and blue, in addition to lining the course to cheer on and thank the veteran golfers.
The Veterans Classic continues through Wednesday, May 21. Nearly 1,000 veterans from 38 states and five countries are playing in this year’s event.
