Middle Tennessee, Connecticut Win Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge at Caledonia, True Blue

Middle Tennessee rode a strong final-round performance to capture the women’s team competition while the University of Connecticut made a late surge to win the men’s division of the 2026 Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge Wednesday at Caledonia and True Blue.

Samford’s Grace Engel (-5) took home medalist honors in the women’s competition, as one of only four players at Caledonia to finish the 54-hole competition at or under par. Alejandro Fierro of Alabama-Birmingham won the men’s division with a three-round total of 207 (-9). Breezy conditions throughout much of the tourney made scoring a challenge, with just five of the 35 teams in competition this week carding three-round total scores at or under par.

Thirty-five NCAA Division I programs were put to the test this week (19 on the women’s side, and 16 on the men’s).
