Myrtle Beach Classic Video Preview with Lauren Kalil

Lauren Kalil joins the Play Golf Myrtle Beach coverage team to break down what visitors can expect when they come to “The Golf Capital of the World” – both for the Myrtle Beach Classic, and throughout the year as they experience the Grand Strand’s treasure trove of compelling on- and off-course attractions!

Welcome to “The Golf Capital of the World,” Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! I’m Lauren Kalil here at the beautiful Dunes Golf and Beach Club for the Myrtle Beach Classic, the first-ever PGA TOUR event to be held here in Myrtle Beach.

This might be a new location for the PGA, but it’s far from being a new destination for golfers. The city hosts more than 80 courses, including nine that are among the top 100 (public) courses in the country. Over the course of the next four days 132 athletes will compete, with nearly 40 players in the field having at least one PGA TOUR win.

What’s up for grabs? A prize purse totaling $4 million! Starting tomorrow, nearly 10,000 spectators are expected to be here each day, and there is no shortage of things to do, from watching your favorite players, playing lawn games, shopping, cooling down with a cold drink, and ending the evening with a concert overlooking the beautiful ocean that is just steps away from right here, the 18th green.

Make sure to continue following us on social media throughout the weekend, where we are going to have highlights, interviews, and a whole spectator experience!
