Paced by rounds of 67 from Wolfpack teammates Maximilian Steinlechner and Easton Paxton, North Carolina State (-19) took a commanding 10-stroke lead over North Florida after two rounds of play at the V1 Sports General Hackler Championship, hosted by Coastal Carolina University at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach.

Steinlechner’s second straight day of carding a 5-under round of 67 gave him a two-stroke lead in individual play over North Florida’s Nick Gabrelcik (-8), whose 6-under-par round of 66 was the day’s lowest among all competitors. Defending individual champion Zack Taylor (-6) of Coastal Carolina matched Steinlechner and Paxton with a second-round 67, leaving him within striking distance of claiming back-to-back individual Hackler Championships. Louisville’s John Murphy (-6) joins Taylor and Paxton in third place.

With breezy conditions off the Atlantic Ocean impacting play at The Dunes Club’s seaside Robert Trent Jones design, only North Carolina (-6), Louisville (-3) and Kent State (-2) joined North Carolina State and North Florida in completing 36 holes of play under par.

Final-round tee times begin at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.
