PGA HOPE Ambassador Dennis Primiano on How This Program is Changing Lives

Through Project Golf, the Myrtle Beach chapter of PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is impacting lives in profound ways. Hear from program ambassador and USAF MSgt. Dennis Primiano (Ret.) on how he’s seen it help his fellow veterans, and the rewards he feels in seeing first-hand how PGA HOPE is changing lives for the better.

USAF MSgt. Dennis Primiano:
The people in this program, they’re always willing to do something for you, if you need something. They know avenues to help you if you’re in a bind.

We just graduated a class last night and the class was, at best, there was probably four or five people who really played golf. To see their faces last night after doing their last week and playing golf on the course and coming in with big smiles and unbelievable, like, “I can’t believe I did all this. This was great. I had such a good time. I’m not going to put the clubs down anymore.” To me that takes them out of their shell and kind of acclimates them back into the world, but they found a whole new community in the golf world.

You try to set the people at ease when you talk to the guys and they’re like, “Oh, I don’t know.” Tell them relax, listen to what the PGA professional is telling you, and just do it. You’ll see it the end of six weeks you’ll be glad, this is the best six weeks of your life.
