A wave of college competitors took center stage in the Myrtle Beach golf scene this week, with 49 Division I teams in three tournaments transforming The Golf Capital of the World® into the “College Golf Capital of the World” for three days.
In Pawleys Island, Charlotte completed a steady three-round stretch to cruise to victory Tuesday in the women’s Golfweek Fall Challenge at Caledonia, while sister course True Blue hosted the men’s Golfweek Fall Challenge won by Georgia Southern. At Grande Dunes Resort Course, Florida Atlantic rode a hot streak in third-round play to cruise to victory in men’s competition at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate.

The field of the women’s Golfweek Fall Challenge at Caledonia included Appalachian State, East Tennessee State, USC Upstate, Arkansas State, High Point, Winthrop, Boise State, Lipscomb, Campbell, Charlotte, Morehead State, Old Dominion, Cincinnati, Presbyterian College, Coastal Carolina, Troy, Delaware, UNC Greensboro, East Carolina, and UNC Wilmington.
The men’s Golfweek Fall Challenge at True Blue included Austin Peay State, Ball State, Central Arkansas, East Texas A&M, Georgia Southern, Loyola U.- Chicago, Mercer, Nevada, North Alabama, Presbyterian College, Tennessee Tech, USC Upstate, and Western Carolina.
The Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate field consisted of Appalachian State, High Point, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Clemson, Maryland, Coastal Carolina, Old Dominion, East Carolina, Texas State, Elon, VCU, Florida Atlantic, and Florida Gulf Coast.
