With its five-month renovation now complete, the Byrd Course at Sea Trail Golf Resort has reopened with a wide array of enhancements to the playing experience. Check out a sampling of what we saw in today’s visit in the photo gallery below!
The new and improved Byrd Course at Sea Trail now features:
* Brand-new, expanded TifEagle Bermuda greens. TifEagle Bermuda grass is proven to be a premier putting surface for world-class golf clubs on the Carolina Coast. Known for its fine texture, resistance to disease, and high drought tolerance, it now provides the Byrd Course with increased consistency and putting speeds.
* Renovated bunkers through implementation of the “Better Billy Bunker” system, renowned for ensuring premium playing conditions even after heavy rainfall
* Bunker edges featuring Zoysia grass, a warm-season grass known for its ability to withstand foot traffic, drought, and heat
* Select teeing areas now leveled and expanded
* Strategic tree removal to prevent disease on the course and infrastructure damage
* New and improved waste bunkers
* Cart path repair, and replacement of all cart bridges
* Expanded and revitalized fairways
* A new, state-of-the-art irrigation system
* Renovated on-course restroom facilities, hydration stations, and landscape beautification throughout the layout
* New directional signage, bunker rakes, flagsticks, flags, cups, in-ground trash cans and tee markers
