Myrtle Beach is at the heart of the Grand Strand’s entertainment scene. From “March Madness” in the spring, to football in the fall, here are the top five seeds (the best places to watch a game) in Central Strand Region. See the top 5 sports bars on the South and North ends too!)
1. Broadway Louie’s – Located at Broadway at the Beach, the epicenter of Myrtle Beach nightlife, Broadway Louie’s is home to a 27-foot projection screen, the area’s largest. That monster is flanked by five other large projection screens. Broadway Louie’s also offers the added benefit of being situated by 10 other nightclubs, providing plenty of postgame options.
2. Hooter’s – A long-time Myrtle Beach favorite, Hooter’s is one of the area’s most popular March Madness destinations. Good food, good atmosphere and a healthy complement of televisions make Hooter’s, home of three area locations, an ideal place to watch a game. Another plus, if your alma mater is losing or your hopes of winning the office pool are crumbling, is the scenery.
3. Handley’s – The only reason Handley’s ranks this low is location – on 501 just off Carolina Forest Boulevard. With televisions at every table, excellent food, an outdoor patio (that includes a large projection screen) and an area to play corn hole, it’s an outstanding place to watch a game.
4. Shamrock's Sports Bar – Located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, Shamrock's will provide local flavor to your sports bar experience. it has two sides, one is a bar area with several roundtop tables and a mass of televisions. The other is setup more like a dining room but has its own bar and is ideal for large groups that want to watch a game.
5. Murphy's Law – Located at 405 South Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, this is an terrific option…especially if you're a Steelers fan! They welcome all comers, but if you're backing the Black and Gold, you'd better be prepared for some ribbing!
