True Blue Named Kickoff Venue for 2023 Barstool Classic; Myrtle Beach Named Official Travel Destination

The 2023 Barstool Classic kicks off its nationwide schedule in spectacular fashion on Monday, March 6 at South Strand masterpiece True Blue Golf Club. Now in its fifth year, the Barstool Classic series has become one of the most sought-after event entries for the recreational golfer, offering a compelling competitive opportunity “the Barstool way.”

Grande Dunes Resort Course hosted the kickoff of the 2022 Barstool Classic, and rave reviews surrounding Barstool’s maiden event voyage in the Myrtle Beach golf market made the decision to return to the Grand Strand an easy one. Mike Strantz’s acclaimed Pawleys Island design at True Blue is the first stop in a 22-market event tour that spans the continental United States, and concludes Sept. 22 in advance of the tour’s championship round.

In addition, to Myrtle Beach hosting the first stop of the Barstool Classic, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was named the official travel destination of the event. At each stop on the Barstool Classic, winners will compete to win trips to The Golf Capital of the World and experience the same golf trip featured on the Barstool Sports ForePlay Travel Series in 2022.

The top four finishing teams from each market’s qualifying event advance to the Barstool Championship (date and location TBD), with the victors of the 2023 Barstool Classic in line for a cash prize of $10,000.

Registration for the March 6 opener at True Blue, as well as all 2023 Barstool Classic qualifying events, opens Wednesday, February 1, at 12 p.m. ET. Interested teams are advised to act promptly, as these events typically sell out within hours.
