Home to the Myrtle Beach area’s only university-affiliated course, The Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina University stands out as a top ranked facility off Highway 501.

Formerly Quail Creek, this original Gene Hamm design was renamed in 2011 after the late and accomplished Air Force General, James Hackler, who dedicated his post-military life to building and growing the greater Myrtle Beach area as a world renowned golf package destination.

Along with the renaming, extensive renovations drastically improved overall playability with the removal of more than 60 bunkers and installation of MiniVerde Bermudagrass greens, the premier and preferred putting surface in the southeast. Coastal Carolina University’s Professional Golf Management students assist in the operations of The Hackler Course under the supervision of PGA Professionals ensuring well-maintained facilities, a proficient staff and an enjoyable experience each and every time.

Unique to the Hackler course is a one-of-a-kind short game practice area in front of the clubhouse offering golfers the chance to warm up prior to their round or work on some things post round.

With a perfect combination of doglegs, scoreable par threes, risk-reward par fives and just enough water in play, golfers find The Hackler Course to offer a balanced and enjoyable round of golf time after time.mAnd multiple PGA Tour winner and U.S. Open champion, Dustin Johnson, marked his successful Chanticleer collegiate career at Coastal Carolina University.

Come experience the Grand Strand’s only university-affiliated golf facility at The Hackler Course, just a short 15-minute drive from Myrtle Beach in Conway, South Carolina!
