After months of dedicated effort, Tidewater Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach is now reaping the rewards of their removal or complete replacement of all greenside bunkers throughout the layout. Tidewater’s goal was to enhance the experience around the greens, where golfers most often encounter sand, and make these areas both more playable and visually striking.

When golfers discuss Myrtle Beach’s South Strand, attention immediately turns to Pawleys Island, but savvy group leaders often bring their charges to Murrells Inlet. Home to four courses and the famed MarshWalk – a half-mile long boardwalk that features some of the area’s most popular bars and restaurants – Murrells Inlet delivers on and off the course. The Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame will welcome two influential figures into its prestigious ranks when Dr. Bruce Martin and Arthur L. “Max” Morgan Jr. are enshrined during a ceremony at the historic Pine Lakes Country Club on September 24. Created in 2008, the Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made an indelible mark on the Grand Strand golf industry.

The PGA TOUR’S ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic will again be played in early May in 2026, with the competition dates set for May 7-10 at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club. The field size for the coming year will be slightly smaller, with 120 players competing, 12 fewer than in the past two years. Ryan Fox captured the 2025 Classic with a dramatic chip-in to win a three-way playoff over Harry Higgs and Mackenzie Hughes.
