The McLamb family’s history in Brunswick County dates back nearly two centuries, and much to the delight of golfers, they opened their first course two decades ago. 

Pine Lakes Country Club is “The Granddaddy,” the birthplace of Myrtle Beach golf, and it’s celebrating its 90th birthday this year.

Curtis Henley of Poquoson, Va. shot a gross 82, good for a net 66, to win the World Championship Playoff at the 34th Annual Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship Friday at Barefoot Resort's Dye Club.

In 2013, a group of Myrtle Beach area PGA pros, led by Crow Creek’s Jimmy Biggs, set out to raise money for Folds of Honor, an organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities for spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.

The Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship is heading into its final round, and more than 50 Myrtle Beach golf courses have been utilized at an event that has attracted 3,000+ players from across the globe. 

It was 1987, and recently married Nick Martin was traveling for work when his wife decided to browse through the pages of an issue of Golf Digest that had arrived in the mail. 

The 34th annual Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship teed off Monday morning, and now you can enjoy a look back at some of the action on the course.
