Arriving competitors were fired up for an exceptional week of camaraderie, revelry and great golf, in anticipation of teeing it up for first-round action Monday at the largest, most fun and most valuable golf tournament on the planet.

Play Golf Myrtle Beach’s Jim Maggio stopped by the Roger Rulewich-designed Grande Dunes Resort Course this past week, to check out the current landscape of each of its front nine holes. As Jim discovered during his early-morning visit Tuesday, the recently completed redesign and expert care of its turf management team have Grande Dunes looking as spectacular as ever!

The 41st Annual PlayGolfMyrtleBeach.com World Amateur Handicap Championship kicks off this weekend with player registration at each of the Grand Strand’s PGA TOUR Superstore locations in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. What can participants expect this year? Let’s break it down by the numbers.

Take an aerial tour of one of the South Strand’s most recognizable golf holes – the island green, par-3 15th at Tradition Golf Club in Pawleys Island, S.C. – and see what’s in store for you when you tee it up here on your next visit!

Located on the north end of Myrtle Beach, Ocean Reef Resort features a quiet beachfront locale loaded with all the amenities and room options you need for your next golf getaway, combined with easy access to the city’s best shopping, restaurants and nightlife.

In the first part of its two-year, two-phase renovation, King’s North at Myrtle Beach National is modernizing the front nine of its Arnold Palmer signature design this summer, with the first phase work set to be completed by October 2024 and phase two work set to begin in summer 2025. Check out the hole-by-hole, “before” and “during” renovation comparisons to get a visual sense of the scope of work currently being performed on Holes 1-9.

In the fourth and final installment of the school’s latest scoring series of videos, Chris Fortenberry of the Classic Swing Golf School at Legends Golf Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C. is here to demonstrate a practice drill that is sure to help your greenside bunker game!
