Tuesday afternoon featured plenty of action and laughs for NFL great and four-time Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski, who was in town with his brother Chris to enjoy some down time on the links at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club, home of the Grand Strand’s first-ever PGA TOUR event, the 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic.

We’re checking in at the South Strand’s “House That Jack Built”: Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club, the celebrated Jack Nicklaus design that’s getting a facelift and a redesign of several holes in 2023. One that’s remaining fundamentally unchanged is its par-5 14th, the hole where Charlie’s trying to break par this week. How will he fare?

The guys from The Golf Podcast presented by Golficity made their recent, first-ever Myrtle Beach golf trip an epic experience: six rounds in four days, based on course recommendations made by Grand Strand golf experts who helped tailor selections to their game and interests. When pointing to the annual strength of field of the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship Presented by LA Golf at TPC Myrtle Beach, the proof in the pudding can be found with just one glance at the most recent achievements of this event’s high-powered alumni. Coastal Carolina University’s General James Hackler Golf Course is getting a new clubhouse, replacing its existing structure with a new, approximately 18,000-square-foot PGA Golf Management facility being funded by the Horry County Higher Education Commission and the University.
