12 Myrtle Beach-Area Courses Included Among Golf Advisor’s Latest Rankings

Ten Grand Strand designs made the cut in Golf Advisor’s most recent “Golfers’ Choice” awards for “Best of South Carolina” golf courses, honored among 25 layouts statewide that are open to the public. Two additional courses have also been recognized in a separate national category.

The Myrtle Beach-area courses honored in the statewide listing include (listed in alphabetical order):

These 10 designs join other renowned designs statewide, highlighted by Harbour Town Golf Links at Sea Pines Resort and the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort.

In addition, two area designs were cited among Golf Advisor reviewers’ selections for the country’s “Most-Improved Golf Courses.” Highlighted by reviewer comments reflective of their improvement, they include Carolina National Golf Club (“The greens were quick and in good conditions, sand was excellent, tees and fairways grassed in well and fairways pretty open.”) and the Jones Course at Sea Trail Resort (“Cart paths and traps have been redone and are excellent. White tees present 4 par fours that go 400 yards! The fairways are perfect Bermuda and the tees are in good condition.”).

Golf Advisor’s Golfers’ Choice rankings are based on the returns from the site’s community of reviewers, which received more than 150,000 reviews in 2019. The site currently boasts more than 825,000 reviews 14,000-plus golf courses worldwide.
