The 3 Best Holes at The Links at Brick Landing: “Ask the Pro” with Allen Rising

Our latest edition of “Ask the Pro” takes us back across the state line to Brunswick County, where in Ocean Isle Beach resides one of a select few Intracoastal Waterway courses in the Myrtle Beach area in The Links at Brick Landing. Here we checked in with Golf Operations Manager Allen Rising for his take on the three best holes at this popular Mike Brazeal/Dan Maples signature collaboration:

Hole No. 1 – “One of most scenic golf holes here at The Links at Brick Landing,” says Rising. “You have the Intracoastal Waterway all the way down the right side of the fairway with a pond and 60-yard-long sand trap down the left side. Although not a long hole by any means at only 403 yards from the championship tees, placement is the key to conquering this hole.”

Hole No. 18 – “Just as No. 1 is a beautiful starting hole, No. 18 makes for a fantastic finishing hole here at The Links at Brick Landing. Your tee shot is over a large pond, again with the Intracoastal Waterway spanning the entire length from tee to green along the right side. It’s not a long hole at 400 yards from the championship tees, but it presents a very good opportunity for a birdie on the last hole of the day. The breathtaking view keeps customers coming back to try and conquer this fantastic hole.”

Hole No. 1 – “This is one of the best-looking holes here at The Links at Brick Landing. Your tee shot is overlooking the marsh sound to a very narrow landing area, as well as a pond on the left. Pinpoint accuracy is key on this not-so-long golf hole, but even sitting at just 371 yards from the championship tees No. 11 is not to be taken lightly. (But) hitting this fairway only leaves you about 100 yards to the green with another birdie opportunity.”
