Among the many things that make Myrtle Beach “The Golf Capital of the World” is its status as a prime “any season” destination. No matter the time of year in these parts, our climate is ideal for golf to be enjoyed in relative comfort.
But for all its yearlong appeal, Myrtle Beach golf during the fall season is truly special – and I’ve got my own short list of reasons why it’s at the top of my seasonal preferences, including:
Mild temperatures – With the summer heat and humidity in the rearview mirror, I love the fall season’s crisp, cool mornings and comfortable afternoons. High temperatures typically range from the mid 60s to low 70s, so you can enjoy a round of golf without breaking a sweat. The weather also tends to be more consistent in the fall, meaning fewer weather-related delays. This reliability allows you to plan tee times with confidence, knowing that most days will be prime days to play.
Seasonal colors – While Myrtle Beach is famous for its ocean views and beautiful landscapes, fall brings an added touch of visual magic to its courses. Many are surrounded by mature trees that change hue as the temperature dips a bit, adding slight bursts of red, orange, and gold to the seasonal color palette. The coastal scenery combined with the fall foliage creates an atmosphere that is both serene and energizing.
Great golf packages – As the beach tourism slows down, many resorts offer special fall rates and “stay and play” packages that pair your accommodations with multiple rounds, and often extra benefits like dining credits and even pro shop discounts.
Off-course attractions – The summer season in Myrtle Beach brings its busiest off-course slate of activities, but the fall season here is filled with its own array of special events and happenings. Seasonal festivals, fairs and concerts bring the Grand Strand landscape to life this time of year, and many area courses are also great host venues for special events like beer and wine tastings and live music nights. The sense of community among golfers and the area’s warm, welcoming vibe make every visit feel like a celebration.
Myrtle Beach may be “The Golf Capital of the World” all year long, but to me there’s no denying that fall is the best time to experience its magic. We can’t wait to have you here soon to see it for yourself!
