Legendary figures make impressions that last well beyond a lifetime. And Blackmoor Golf Club carries on this tradition as one of Gary Player’s signature course designs.

With a lifetime of global travels and countless championships won, the ‘Man in Black,” Gary Player, has created a “must-play” for golf enthusiasts in Myrtle Beach. Built on the Longwood Plantation adjacent to the Waccamaw River, this par 72 design is an inviting layout with the perfect mix of traditional straight away par fours and fives along with picturesque par threes.

One of Blackmoor’s signature holes is the split fairway par four 8th hole. The longer hitters will be tempted to drive the green at 290 yards from the back tees, though the safer play to the left fairway should leave nothing more than a wedge to attack the hole location.

On the back nine, the 14th, 15th and 16th holes offer a beautiful trifecta with this large lake surrounding the 14th green, a tree lined forced carry par three 15th and the dogleg right 16th with water in play, left, off the tee. The finishing hole, the par five 18th, returns to the clubhouse with this pond right of the green along with greenside bunkers … all providing a picturesque setting with the clubhouse backdrop to finish your round.

Golf as it was meant to be: an inviting setting, creative design, natural beauty and great conditions. Blackmoor Golf Club continues to be a favorite amongst locals for all these reasons.
