A big part of a great golf experience in The Golf Capital of the World® is when the staff you meet at our courses go above and beyond to make it special. They’re our “Everyday Heroes of Myrtle Beach Golf,” and we’re proud to feature them here to show you what you can expect the next time you visit their courses.
This week’s nomination comes from Tidewater Golf Club, which submitted a longtime staffer for consideration.
Meet Cord Meeks, as described by Tidewater’s Brett Foti.
Name:
Cord Meeks
Hometown:
Bristol, Tennessee
North Myrtle Beach resident for the past 21 years
Years of Service at Tidewater Golf Club:
20+ Years — Since October 26, 2005
Job Title:
Outside Operations Lead
Job Responsibilities:
As Outside Operations Lead, Cord is an important part of the guest experience at Tidewater and often one of the first team members golfers meet when they arrive.
His responsibilities include welcoming guests and assisting with their golf bags, preparing and staging carts, maintaining the bag drop and practice range, and helping ensure the daily operation runs smoothly. Three days each week, Cord also takes special care of our Annual Usage members, many of whom he has come to know personally over his 20 years at Tidewater.
As one of our most experienced Outside Operations team members, Cord also helps train new employees, teaching them not only the responsibilities of the job, but the level of service our guests have come to expect.
How Cord Makes the Customer Experience Exceptional:
For 20 years, Cord has been one of the familiar faces welcoming golfers to Tidewater. What makes him an “Everyday Hero” is the consistency and care he brings to that role every single day.
Whether he’s greeting a first-time visitor, taking care of a longtime member, picking the range, or showing a new employee the ropes, Cord’s goal is simple: make sure people feel welcomed and taken care of.
Cord also leads by example. He understands that exceptional service is often found in the little things—remembering a name, anticipating what a golfer needs, offering assistance before being asked, and keeping everything running smoothly even on the busiest days.
For our regular players, Cord is part of what makes Tidewater feel like home. For a first-time visitor, he may be their very first impression of Tidewater Golf Club.
After two decades, Cord continues to represent the hospitality and service we want every golfer to experience at Tidewater. That’s what makes him our Everyday Hero.
