Eye in the Sky: Checking Out the “New” Maples Course at Sea Trail
Following its late 2025 reopening, the Maples Course at Sea Trail Golf Resort is enjoying a highly successful rollout this peak spring golf season of the course’s latest and greatest features. The course enhancements come after an extensive renovation that began in earnest after the course’s temporary closing in May 2025.
Highlights of the Maples restoration include:
New TifEagle Bermuda greens– Premium putting surfaces for a smoother, more consistent roll. These are the same high-quality greens featured on the Byrd Course and both practice greens at Maples and Jones/Byrd.
Reimagined course layout & architecture– A bold new fairway cut design with widened fairways (from 14 acres to 40 acres), expanded natural areas, and ornamental grasses, creating a unique playing experience unlike anything else in the region.
Cart path removal– Eliminated rough cart paths for a smoother ride through natural waste areas or designated paths.
Upgraded irrigation – New green-surround irrigation heads to help keep the turf healthier, greener, and more consistent, all year long.
New directional signageto guide you smoothly from hole to hole.
New golf cart fleet– New top-of-the-line Club Car golf carts with Visage GPS, Bluetooth technology, and the ability to order food and beverages directly from your cart.
Enhanced turf & landscaping– Newly sodded areas, refreshed tee boxes, and upgraded course aesthetics.
