Family Golf Week Returns to Myrtle Beach July 17-19 with New Format and Nationwide Field

Broderick Arnold (r, with son Bryan) is receiving the 2025 Family Golf Week Father of the Year Award

The 28th annual Family Golf Week returns to the Golf Capital of the World July 17-19 (Thursday-Saturday), welcoming more than 400 two-person teams from more than 40 states to compete across eight of the Grand Strand’s premier golf courses.

Joining the Father & Son Team Classic featuring male teams with a generational age gap is the new Family Division which is open to all family combinations. Whether you are a husband-and-wife team, siblings, cousins, or even an uncle and niece duo, this new division offers a chance for any family member to compete at the event.

“Family Golf Week is more than just a competition – it’s about creating unforgettable memories with your family,” said Family Golf Week’s Mike Buccerone.  “With the new Family Division open to all family combinations, we’re celebrating the many ways golf brings loved ones together. Whether you’re playing with your dad, your mom, sister or your favorite cousin, if you’re family, you can play.”

Taking place at eight area designs including the Dye and Fazio courses at Barefoot Resort, Rivers Edge, Crow Creek, the PineHills Course at Myrtlewood, Shaftesbury Glen, The Pearl, and the newly renovated Byrd Course at Sea Trail Resort, this year’s tournament promises fun and friendly competition with unforgettable memories for golfers of all ages and skill levels.

On Thursday (July 17) evening, Broderick Arnold of Fayetteville, Georgia., will be recognized as the 2025 Father of the Year during Family Golf Night at the Barefoot Resort Driving Range. Golfers and their families will enjoy an evening of music, games and great food and drinks provided by Logan’s Roadhouse. Arnold and his son, Bryan, have played in the event for 18 years and can always be seen representing their beloved Georgia Bulldogs wearing red and black.

“It’s something I didn’t expect, but I’m incredibly honored to receive this award,” Broderick Arnold said. “I’ve been coming for 18 years, and every year has been special. It means a lot to share this with my family and to play alongside Bryan. He’s our color coordinator for the week and we always wrap it up in red and black for Tiger (Woods). We enjoy playing in this event reconnecting and meeting new people. And we encourage others to be part of something really meaningful.”

All three days will feature a different format, including:

  • Round 1: Two-Person Best Ball
  • Round 2: Modified Alternate Shot
  • Round 3: Captain’s Choice Scramble

The week kicks off Wednesday (July 16) with a complimentary welcome lunch during registration. Players will receive their Family Golf Week gift bags, packed with merchandise from FootJoy, TaylorMade, Ahead and more.
