A wide range of renovations and enhancements have been implemented at popular North Myrtle Beach track Azalea Sands in the past two years, and its visiting golfers and regular players are taking notice.
You see it immediately upon arrival as you enter off Hwy. 17. Freshly planted flower beds line the entryway, leading to a dramatic new reveal of Azalea Sands’ eastern-most holes. Trees that formerly separated the fairways there have been replaced by scenic new waste areas, and gives the course a more wide-open feel on its back nine.
You check in now in a newly refurbished clubhouse, complete with a redesigned pro shop fully stocked with the latest in equipment, accessories and apparel; and renovated restaurant and bar offering a complete menu of food and drink options for both pre-round breakfast and post-round lunch.
And with persistent efforts applied to providing golfers with exceptional course conditions, it’s no wonder they’ve been responding with glowing feedback of the new Azalea Sands golf experience.
Said Google reviewer Ron Owens in November 2022, “I love this golf course. Even from the senior tees, it’s still challenging. Many fairways from the senior tees are straight away. At Azalea Sands doglegs are still doglegs. The course was in great shape and the staff was outstanding. The price was very good and I got to play by myself which allowed me to field test a new driver vs. the old one. Play this course. You’ll like it too!”
Google reviewer Nicholas Molling said recently, “Greens 10/10 condition, fairways 9.5/10, bunkers 10/10. The best conditions of any mid-range course I have played in Myrtle, for $20 less per green fee. Course is relatively easy but not boring at all. Amazing value.”
Google reviewer Craig Osborne added just weeks ago, “Lots of money spent there, many improvements made. Friendly staff!”
And Google reviewer Greg Witkowski offered these thoughts in July 2022: “Well maintained golf course for intermediate players. Challenging holes; exceptional pace of play. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The ownership has taken great pride in maintaining this course and clubhouse and it shows. My sons and I played multiple times throughout the week because of the positive experience and level of course.”
