Haney, Breed, Terrell Teaming Up to Help World Am Players

Three lucky participants in the 2019 Myrtle Beach World Amateur are receiving the instructional prize of a lifetime – courtesy of three of the game’s leading swing gurus.

Hank Haney, Michael Breed and Allen Terrell have joined forces to help three of this year’s World Am competitors improve their game in preparing for “the Everyman’s U.S. Open,” to be contested on 60 of Myrtle Beach’s best golf courses Aug. 26-30.

Haney has instructed more than 200 PGA TOUR professionals in his career, including Tiger Woods and Mark O’Meara. Breed has become a pioneer in digital golf instruction, and previously hosted the highest rated golf instruction series for Golf Channel, “The Golf Fix.” Terrell is the director of coaching for the Dustin Johnson Golf School, and also provides swing counsel to the world’s top-ranked player.

Each instructor will be providing their teaching facilities as the base of operations for aiding a World Am player.

Carl Myers of McKinney, Texas will benefit from the teaching of Steve Johnson at the Hank Haney Golf Ranch at Vista Ridge in Lewisville, Texas. Myers will be competing in his third World Am, having previously won and finished 13th in the Senior Gross Division.

Jaime Constanzo, a 14 index from Manchester, N.J., will be instructed by Breed at the Michael Breed Golf Academy at Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point in The Bronx, N.Y. A mental edge coach by day, Costanzo will be preparing for her 11th World Am after having previously achieved a top-5 finish in her division.

Gene Chiarella, a 22 index from Myrtle Beach, S.C., will benefit from Terrell’s instruction at the Dustin Johnson Golf School at TPC Myrtle Beach. Chiarella joins Costanzo in competing in his 11th World Am.

Myers, Costanzo and Chiarella will each receive six lessons from now until the World Am in late August, in their teachers’ collective effort to underscore the impact and importance of instruction in helping players of all abilities improve their game. The World Am’s promotional team will be chronicling these efforts in that time, and later this year will share video profiles of each player’s experience with their world-class instructor.

Haney and Breed will each be appearing at the World Am’s nightly attraction at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, “The World’s Largest 19th Hole,” to offer insights on the game and share their experiences in working with this year’s World Am lesson recipients. In the meantime, each will also be keeping their radio listeners connected to this effort as part of their Sirius XM shows’ “Teaching Tuesdays” segments, beginning May 14 and running every other Tuesday through August (May 14, May 28, June 11, June 25, July 9, July 23, Aug. 6 and Aug. 20).

Breed’s show, “A New Breed of Golf,” airs on Sirius XM’s PGA TOUR Radio weekdays from 8-10 a.m. ET. Listeners are invited to call in to Breed’s show from 9-9:30 a.m. each “Teaching Tuesday” to talk about improving their game, as well as any World Am-related experiences they wish to share.

Listeners can do the same during Haney’s “Teaching Tuesdays” segment from 11-11:30 a.m. ET on “Hank Haney Golf Radio,” which airs on Sirius XM’s PGA TOUR Radio weekdays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
