The newest reason to visit is The Piper, a nine-hole, par-3 course designed by Ken Baker. It plays just 750 yards total, with holes from 54 to 122 yards, so it’s all wedges, short irons and bragging rights.

It’s built for everybody: low handicappers sharpening their short game, beginners, juniors, families, and buddies who want one more round after finishing the day’s first 18 holes. It’s quick, social and flat-out fun, with a Scottish touch that fits its name. Piper rounds aren’t automatically included in Stay & Play packages, so ask about adding one when you book.

Practice Like a Tour Pro, Even After Dark

The Legends driving range anchors a 30-acre practice complex, one of the largest on the East Coast. It’s fully lighted, with multiple target greens and 20-plus aim points. Behind the clubhouse, the lighted putting green covers more than an acre, and pins move daily for fresh reads.

A 19th Hole with Bragging Rights

The Ailsa Pub in the Turnberry Park lodging area has been pouring since 1994 and made Golf Digest’s list of the Top 50 Nineteenth Holes in America. Think creative burgers, proper fish and chips and a deep drink list, open daily from 4 p.m. to midnight. In the clubhouse, the Highland Double Eagle Tavern handles your included breakfast and lunch, with pub favorites and a full bar.
