Leopard’s Chase Reopens with New, TifEagle Ultradwarf Bermudagrass Greens

Leopard’s Chase Golf Links, one of the four “Big Cats” courses at Ocean Ridge Plantation, has completed its recent renovations and reopened last week with the unveiling of its brand-new, TifEagle ultradwarf Bermudagrass greens.

The new putting surfaces replace the L93 bentgrass that had made Leopard’s Chase one of only five golf courses along the Grand Strand that featured bentgrass greens. The switch to TifEagle will enable the greens at Leopard’s Chase to thrive during the warmer months, at times when their former bentgrass surfaces would otherwise get stressed by extended heat.

The PlayGolfMyrtleBeach.com team visited Tuesday, as David Williams captured the photos below on a picture-perfect day for late summer golf. Be sure to visit the Ocean Ridge Plantation website for more information on how you can include Leopard’s Chase, along with its sister “Big Cats” designs at Tiger’s Eye, Lion’s Paw and Panther’s Run, in your fall golf getaway itinerary!
