Local Knowledge: Top 5 19th Holes in Myrtle Beach

October 25, 2017

We’ve played every golf course along the Grand Strand and enjoyed a “post-round pop” in most of them.

Here's our list of the top 5 “19th holes” along the Myrtle Beach golf scene:

1. Caledonia Golf & Fish Club

Golf Channel’s Matt Ginella has called Caledonia Golf & Fish Club home to one of the top 5 19th holes in all of golf, and it leads our list. After playing this Mike Strantz masterpiece, you owe it to yourself to enjoy the cold beverage of your choice on the wraparound porch overlooking the course’s famed 18th green.

The 19th hole at caledonia is among the best in golf

2. Pine Lakes Country Club

Myrtle Beach’s first golf course is also home to its most storied clubhouse. Pine Lakes Country Club is where Sports Illustrated was founded, and that history is celebrated. Throw in the staff wearing plaid and the chance to visit the Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame in the courtyard, and any group that passes on this experience is making a significant mistake.

3. Legends Resort

A trip to the bar at Legends Resort is a virtual requirement given that two free drinks come with every package round, and Double Eagle Tavern doesn’t disappoint. Recently remodeled, this 19th hole is half clubhouse bar, half sports bar, featuring 14 HD televisions, some as large as 80 inches.

4. Barefoot Resort

The resort clubhouse at Barefoot Resort and more specifically, the outdoor grill area are the perfect cap to a spring or fall round at one of the Grand Strand’s premier facilities. When burgers are cooking on the grill and your group is enjoying the outdoor bar, I dare you to have to have just one.

5. Glen Dornoch

The clubhouse at Glen Dornoch overlooks the double green the 9th and 18th holes share and the Intracoastal Waterway. It’s a beautiful setting and one your group will want to enjoy.
