Myrtle Beach is Tripadvisor’s Top U.S. Beach Destination for Summer 2023

Golfers making a summer escape this year to the Grand Strand will enjoy a vacation spot that’s in the highest demand right now among the country’s top beach destinations. Tripadvisor, the world’s largest travel guidance platform, released its latest Seasonal Travel Index this week with Myrtle Beach emerging as consumers’ top choice for summer 2023 travel among beach locations in the United States.

Tripadvisor’s overall top 10 list of preferred summer 2023 domestic travel destinations is topped by Orlando, with Myrtle Beach at No. 2 and ranking ahead of Honolulu, Key West, Lahaina (HI) and Ocean City (MD) among beach locations.

3. Las Vegas, Nev.
4. Honolulu, Hawaii
5. New York City, N.Y.
6. Key West, Fla.
7. Ocean City, MD.
8. Lahaina, Hawaii

Tripadvisor’s Seasional Travel Index draws from its Consumer Sentiment Survey, based on data drawn from an online survey of more than 2,400 consumers and conducted between March 17-27, 2023 across six countries (Australia, Italy, Japan, Singapore, United Kingdom and the United States); and site behavioral data sourced from first-party traffic data on the Tripadvisor platform, gathered between January 10 and April 10 2023, for searches made by travelers in the U.S., U.K., Australia, Japan and Singapore for travel between June 1 through August 31, 2023.
