Last week, Play Golf Myrtle Beach’s Jim Maggio took to the skies at the Gene Hamm-designed Burning Ridge Golf Club to capture hole-by-hole imagery of the popular design’s front nine holes. Since shining on the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship stage, several of its former champions have already moved on to higher-level achievement and glory. We’ve highlighted the next-level feats of several, including PGA TOUR winners Akshay Bhatia and Nick Dunlap, plus a host of others who competed in the 2021 DJ World Junior.

Less than six months since that last update, we’ve had a growing list of more recent DJWJ alums who’ve now staked claims of their own.

Play Golf Myrtle Beach has teamed up with Aaron Chewning, the co-founder of St. Andre Golf, to launch a fresh and innovative video series, “Course Cases with Aaron Chewning.” In Episode 9, Aaron heads to the South Strand to enter the den of “The Golden Bear,” Jack Nicklaus, in his signature design at Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country club in Pawleys Island, S.C.

Meet the 2025 Play Golf Myrtle Beach World Amateur Championship winner: Scott Collette of Knoxville, Tenn. Scott takes us through his journey that first led him to the World Am, and the years that followed that have now culminated in his new status as World Champion!

In part five of Classic Swing Golf School’s ground series of instructional tips, instructor Eddie Young steps in to discuss the importance of using the ground and your lead leg to generate vertical force in the golf swing, and demonstrates some practice drills to support this process.

Scott Collette from Knoxville, Tennessee is the official World Amateur golf champion, defeating 59 other golfers in the Flight Winners Playoff of the 2025 Play Golf Myrtle Beach World Amateur Championship Friday played at Thistle Golf Club in Sunset Beach, N.C.

Collette defeated Doug Harvey (Zebulon, N.C.) in a three-hole playoff. Richard Marriott (Paget, Bermuda) finished third, with five golfers tying for fourth place.
