Christian Salzer of Sumter, SC fired an 8-under par score of 64 at TPC Myrtle Beach Wednesday to lead a group of 15 golfers who moved a step closer to qualifying for the Grand Strand’s first-ever PGA TOUR event, the 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic May 9-12 at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.

Each of these golfers now advances to the Myrtle Beach Classic Open Monday Qualifying event May 6 at TPC Myrtle Beach, where the top four players from that 18-hole stroke play competition earn a coveted spot in the 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic.
Wednesday’s event at TPC Myrtle Beach was the second of two pre-qualifiers this week, with the first taking place Monday at Prestwick Country Club. The number of players and ties advancing from each pre-qualifier to the “Monday Q” on May 6th was determined on a pro rata basis.
