Ron’s Story:

“Every year we make the trek down to Myrtle Beach in the first week of May for some fellowship, enjoyable golf, some great food and lots of beer. It started 12 years ago as a suggestion over beers, then turned into a dream made true by a few guys who followed through on that vision. We always seem to end up at mostly the same restaurants recounting the day’s events. It will be with heavy hearts when we go down next year, as one of our originals has passed away. We will toast him and hoist a beer in his memory.”

Michael’s Story:

“THE THAWING. For the past four seasons Jim Creighton (2nd from right) and I (far left) have made Barefoot Resort the place to thaw our bones after our long Canadian winters. Last year we added two of our college hockey buddies, Matt Hughson (2nd from left) and Scott Creighton (far right). The four of us are now committed to making this a yearly tradition, no matter where we may be living, but what made this trip extremely different and made us appreciate each other’s company was when we arrived at Myrtle Beach Airport for our return home and our flight had been cancelled. Matt was quick on the trigger to get our return flight refunded and proceeded to rent an SUV, and we drove 17.5 hours from Myrtle Beach to Buffalo, only stopping to change drivers – a memory we will never forget, and that made us want to do it year after year going forward. Also have a video on my Instagram account of us singing “Take Me Home, Country Roads” when we were driving through West Virginia.”

Kyle’s Story:

“Two spring breaks ago (March 2017), eight of us went down to Myrtle Beach for the week. Long story short, the kid in the black polo in front, John, was living in Minnesota at the time and couldn’t miss the trip. So he took a 20+ hour bus ride to meet us. His spring break was the week before, so he had already been down for a week and caught the second weekend with us before heading home. By the time his time to head home came around, he had cancelled his flight and pushed it out a week, thus skipping a whole week of school to hang out with the guys in Myrtle Beach and continue having one of the best golf trips of our lives!”

Alex’s Story:

“We brought 16 people down for a competitive golf weekend, with different competitions each day and events each night. People flew in from Seattle, Florida, Boston, and Georgia to take part. From kick off at Topgolf to the closing ceremony, this golf outing was one for the history books!”

Dennis’ Story:

“Most of this group has been going to Myrtle Beach every year in October, we call ourselves ‘The Lemondrop Kids.” Great bunch of golf enthusiasts who can hack though the best sand traps Mrytle Beach has to offer.”
