Sandpiper Bay Golf Club, Tiger’s Eye Golf Links, Founders Club at Pawleys Island, True Blue Golf Club, Glen Dornoch Waterway Links and Barefoot Resort – Dye Course. This video recap includes the thoughts of numerous participants and tournament director Jeff Monday on what makes this event truly special.

Event Guest 1:  Myrtle Beach, the destination of Myrtle Beach, the courses are outstanding.

Event Guest 2: The courses are awesome. Compared to the Iowa courses (where there is) flat land, mainly all flat areas, these have a lot of character to them.

Event Guest 3:  Real golf is here because this is a golf town.

Event Guest 4:  It’s the best in the world, there’s challenges on different courses, different opportunities to play good or play bad.

Event Guest 5:  The great thing about Myrtle Beach is all the courses are within a couple minutes of each other. You can play a course that’s a links-style course or you can play another course that is a Scottish links and then you can also play a parkland type course or a wooded course or an older course, they have everything here.

Mark Mahlstedt:  You meet a bunch of friends and you meet people that are all over the country and you become friends. Golf is the universal sport, so it’s great.

Sheila Hadden-Hinton:  The staff at every course was a “10” plus. The events at every location were very well managed. I’ve traveled the United States as a golfer and played some great golf from South Carolina to California, played Pebble Beach, so I have a great base for comparison –  and I can tell you that the golf at Myrtle Beach is where you want to be.

Chelsea Prosser:  Just getting away from home, playing different courses, meeting new people …

Mark Mahlstedt:  Every year since probably 2001, I’ve met about five, six guys, and it’s just great to see them once a year or twice a year and play great, quality courses.

Jeff Monday:  The love of golf that all of our players have who participate in this tournament is shared, so when you come down to a tournament here in Myrtle Beach that we’re running, it’s just great to be able to spend time around people who love the game of golf, love to compete and love to have fun. We’ve structured a number of different events, whether they’re individual or team events, and it just gives people a different way of playing golf with a little bit of competition. But also getting to share in camaraderie and just that love of golf here, and play some absolutely beautiful Myrtle Beach golf courses.
